Privacy Policy
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy describes how the developer identified on LexiGrasp's App Store product page ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the LexiGrasp iOS application (the "App"), its support channels, and these legal pages. It applies to all LexiGrasp features, including scanning, importing, OCR, editing, signing, organizing, converting, exporting, app locking, and subscriptions.
The App does not require a LexiGrasp account. We do not operate advertising, analytics, behavioral profiling, or cloud document-storage services in the current release.
2. Information processed by the App
| Category | Examples | Where processed | Who controls it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Document and image content | Camera captures, imported photographs, PDFs, IDs, passports, receipts, business cards | On your device | You |
| Derived content | Recognized text, MRZ fields, receipt totals, contact fields, page crops, image filters | On your device | You |
| User-created content | Annotations, signatures, stamps, text overlays, document names, folders | On your device | You |
| App settings | Onboarding status, OCR language, auto-capture preference, App Lock preference, locally mirrored premium status | On your device | You and the App |
| Purchase status | Product availability and verified subscription entitlement | Processed by Apple; status read by the App | Apple and you |
| Support communications | Your email address, message, and attachments if you voluntarily contact us | Your email provider and ours | You and us |
3. Camera, Photos, Files, Contacts, and biometrics
Camera
Camera access is used only after permission to capture documents, identity documents, receipts, business cards, and QR or barcodes. QR and barcode values are detected on-device. Camera frames are not transmitted to us.
Photos and Files
When you use an Apple photo or document picker, the App receives only the items you select or the access Apple otherwise grants through that picker. Imported material is copied or processed locally for the feature you selected.
Contacts
Business-card recognition runs on-device. If you choose to create a contact, LexiGrasp prepares suggested fields and presents Apple's contact interface for your review. Nothing is added until you confirm. We do not receive your address book or the contact you save.
Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode
App Lock uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Authentication is performed by iOS. LexiGrasp receives only whether authentication succeeded; it never receives or stores your face image, fingerprint, passcode, or biometric template. App Lock is an access-control convenience and should not be treated as a guarantee that each document is separately encrypted with a user-controlled key.
4. On-device processing
The current version performs document detection, perspective correction, cropping, rotation, image enhancement, OCR, MRZ parsing, receipt analysis, business-card parsing, annotations, signatures, stamps, QR/barcode recognition, PDF operations, and Office-format generation locally using Apple platform frameworks and app code. LexiGrasp does not transmit this content to a developer-operated server for processing.
Some source files may originate from iCloud Photos, iCloud Drive, or another file-provider service selected by you. In that case, Apple or the selected provider may download the item to your device under its own terms and privacy policy. LexiGrasp does not control that provider.
5. How local data is stored
Scans, generated documents, reusable signatures, custom stamps, folders, and associated metadata are stored in LexiGrasp's private app container using local files and Core Data. iOS Data Protection and device security settings apply. Depending on your Apple backup settings and Apple's rules, app data may be included in a device or iCloud backup. We cannot access those backups.
Temporary working files may be created while importing, converting, compressing, sharing, or exporting. The App attempts to remove temporary files after use, but the operating system may retain temporary or cached data for a limited period.
6. Purposes and legal bases
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, local processing you initiate is necessary to provide the requested App functionality and perform our agreement with you. App preferences are used to remember your choices and provide the service. Purchase-status processing is necessary to deliver paid features and prevent unauthorized access. Support communications are processed to respond to your request, based on performance of our service obligations and our legitimate interest in support and security. We use information to comply with law only when legally required.
7. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, rent mailing lists, or disclose scan content to advertisers or data brokers.
- Apple: Apple operates the App Store, StoreKit, subscriptions, purchase verification, refunds, system permissions, photo and document pickers, and biometric authentication. Apple handles its data under Apple's own privacy terms.
- Destinations you select: When you export, share, copy, open a URL, save to Files, or create a contact, you direct iOS to send content to the chosen app, person, website, storage provider, printer, or contact database. That recipient's privacy practices apply.
- Legal and safety: We may disclose support records we actually possess if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or respond to lawful process.
- Business changes: If ownership of the App changes, support and business records may transfer subject to this policy and applicable law. Local scan content unavailable to us cannot be transferred by us.
Where we use a service provider for support email or website hosting, we require it to handle information consistently with its role and applicable law. No service provider receives document content from the App in the current release.
8. Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes billing and payment information. LexiGrasp requests StoreKit product information and reads cryptographically verified transaction entitlements so it can unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full payment-card number. Apple's records may include your Apple Account, storefront, transaction, billing, tax, and device-related information; those practices are governed by Apple.
9. Analytics, ads, and tracking
The current release contains no third-party analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or App Tracking Transparency-based tracking. LexiGrasp does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not create advertising profiles. If these practices change, we will update this policy, the App Store privacy disclosure, and any consent flow before collecting the new data.
10. Retention and deletion
- Documents: retained locally until you delete them in LexiGrasp or remove the App. Deleting an exported copy from LexiGrasp does not delete copies already sent to Files, Photos, another app, another person, a printer, or a cloud provider.
- Signatures and stamps: retained locally until removed in the relevant library or until the App and its data are deleted.
- Preferences: retained until changed, reset, or the App's data is removed.
- Purchase records: retained by Apple under Apple's policies. A local entitlement indicator may remain until refreshed or the App's data is removed.
- Support records: retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain security and business records, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations. Our target is deletion or anonymization within 24 months after closure unless a longer period is required.
See the Data Deletion Guide for detailed instructions. Because there is no LexiGrasp account and we do not possess your local documents, we cannot remotely view or erase them.
11. Your choices
- Deny or revoke Camera, Photos, Contacts, and Face ID permissions in iOS Settings.
- Review recognized text, contact fields, MRZ values, receipt totals, and export previews before saving or sharing.
- Delete documents, folders, signatures, stamps, and generated files within the App where controls are provided.
- Delete the App and its local data through iOS. Backups or exported copies must be managed separately.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account settings.
- Contact us regarding support information that we actually hold.
12. Security
We minimize transmission by processing documents locally and rely on iOS sandboxing and Data Protection. No storage system is perfectly secure. Protect your device with a strong passcode, keep iOS updated, enable App Lock where appropriate, verify share-sheet recipients, and avoid sending sensitive documents through insecure channels. If you believe App or support data has been compromised, contact us promptly.
13. International and regional privacy rights
EEA, Switzerland, and United Kingdom
If applicable, you may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, and may complain to your local supervisory authority. These rights generally concern personal data we control, such as support correspondence; we cannot access local-only documents. The controller is the developer identified on LexiGrasp's App Store product page. Contact details appear below. If support information is processed outside your country, we will use a legally recognized transfer mechanism where required.
California and other U.S. states
Subject to eligibility and legal exceptions, residents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold and may appeal certain decisions. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no sale/sharing opt-out is necessary for the current release. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable rights. In the preceding 12 months, the App has not collected document content on our servers or sold or shared personal information for targeted advertising.
India
Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and implementing rules apply, you may request information about processing, correction, completion, updating, or erasure of personal data held by us, and may use our grievance contact below. Local document data remains on your device and can be managed there. We will respond and escalate grievances as required by applicable law once the relevant provisions are in force.
We may need to verify a rights request and may retain limited information about the request to demonstrate compliance. Authorized agents must provide appropriate authority. Legal rights are subject to jurisdictional scope and exceptions.
14. Children
LexiGrasp is a general-purpose productivity app and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly operate an online service that collects children's document content. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent personal information through our support channel should contact us so we can evaluate and delete it where required.
15. Automated decisions
OCR, document detection, MRZ parsing, contact recognition, and receipt parsing provide user-facing suggestions. LexiGrasp does not use these results to make legal or similarly significant decisions about people. You must verify all automated results.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the App, law, or our operations. We will change the date above and provide additional notice in the App when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
17. Contact and privacy requests
LexiGrasp Privacy SupportEmail: support@lexigrasp.site
Do not attach passports, IDs, financial records, confidential scans, or biometric information to a support or privacy request. Describe the issue without sending the underlying document whenever possible.
