Terms of Use

1. Agreement and provider

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the developer identified on LexiGrasp's App Store product page ("Provider," "we," "us," or "our") for the LexiGrasp iOS application, related content, and support (collectively, the "App"). By downloading, purchasing, accessing, or using LexiGrasp, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Your license is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"), which is incorporated by reference. These Terms supplement, and do not replace, the Apple Standard EULA. If they conflict, the Apple Standard EULA controls to the extent required by Apple or applicable law.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering this agreement. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms and supervise your use. LexiGrasp is not directed to children under 13.

3. License and ownership

Subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use LexiGrasp on Apple-branded devices you own or control as permitted by App Store Usage Rules. LexiGrasp is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors retain all rights in the App, software, design, branding, and documentation not expressly granted to you.

You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, bypass security or subscription controls, introduce malicious code, scrape the App, or use it to build a competing service except where applicable law expressly allows such activity despite this restriction.

4. Your content

You retain your rights in documents, images, text, signatures, annotations, and files you capture, import, create, or export ("User Content"). Because the current App processes User Content locally, you do not grant us a general license to host or use it. You grant only the limited device-level permissions necessary for the App to perform actions you request.

You represent that you have all permissions necessary to scan, reproduce, alter, sign, convert, store, and share User Content. You are responsible for complying with privacy, confidentiality, copyright, recordkeeping, employment, healthcare, financial, identity-document, and electronic-signature laws that apply to your material.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use LexiGrasp to:

• forge, counterfeit, deceptively alter, or misuse passports, identity cards, receipts, certificates, records, signatures, or official documents;
• commit fraud, impersonation, identity theft, harassment, surveillance, discrimination, or any unlawful act;
• process or disclose another person's private or confidential information without authority;
• infringe copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, contractual, or other rights;
• create or distribute illegal, harmful, exploitative, or malicious content;
• circumvent technical limits, interfere with operation, or probe the App for unauthorized purposes.

6. Scanning, OCR, and automated extraction

Automatic edge detection, perspective correction, OCR, handwriting recognition, QR/barcode reading, MRZ parsing, contact extraction, and receipt analysis are probabilistic and may be incomplete or wrong. Lighting, focus, language, layout, print quality, damage, handwriting, and device capability can affect results.

You must compare important results against the original. Do not rely on LexiGrasp as the sole source for identity, immigration, travel, legal, medical, tax, accounting, safety, compliance, or financial decisions. LexiGrasp does not authenticate documents, verify identities, certify copies, validate QR destinations, or determine whether a document is genuine.

7. Signatures, stamps, and annotations

LexiGrasp provides visual editing tools, not legal, notarial, identity-verification, certificate, or trust services. A drawn or stamped mark created in LexiGrasp may not satisfy legal requirements for an electronic or digital signature. We do not witness signatures, verify signers, issue certificates, preserve an audit trail, or guarantee enforceability. You are responsible for determining whether a signature method is valid for your transaction and obtaining all parties' consent.

8. Conversion, compression, and export

PDF, image, text, DOCX, XLSX, and other conversions may change layout, fonts, image quality, tables, metadata, accessibility structure, hyperlinks, color, or pagination. Compression intentionally reduces information and may make text or images less legible. Preview and retain the original before replacing, signing, printing, filing, or distributing an output.

When you use the iOS share sheet, Files, Contacts, clipboard, URL opening, printing, or another destination, you instruct the device to transfer content to that destination. We do not control third-party apps, websites, people, printers, or storage providers.

9. Local storage and backups

User Content is principally stored in LexiGrasp's local app container. We do not promise cloud backup, synchronization, archival retention, disaster recovery, or recovery after deletion, corruption, device loss, operating-system failure, or App removal. Maintain independent copies of important originals and exports. Removing the App may permanently delete local content. Copies exported elsewhere must be deleted separately.

App Lock depends on iOS authentication and device configuration. It is not a substitute for organizational security controls, a strong device passcode, secure backups, or professional records management.

10. Permissions and device requirements

Features may require permission to use the camera, selected photos or files, contacts, and device-owner authentication. You can change permissions in iOS Settings, but disabling them may make related features unavailable. Camera quality, supported recognition languages, memory, storage, and processing speed vary by device and iOS version.

11. Free and Pro functionality

Scanning, editing, signing, on-device text recognition and organizing are available without payment and without an account. LexiGrasp Pro is required to take a file out of the App — Share, Save to Photos and Save to Files, in any format — and for passport machine-readable-zone reading, receipt total extraction, saving business-card details as contacts, and stamps. PDFs produced without an active LexiGrasp Pro entitlement carry a LexiGrasp footer. The features included in each tier are also shown in the App before purchase and may evolve as permitted by law and Apple's rules. We will not knowingly remove access to an already-purchased entitlement contrary to applicable law.

12. Auto-renewable subscriptions

• Plans: LexiGrasp Pro Weekly at US$9.99 per week and LexiGrasp Pro Yearly at US$89.99 per year. Your App Store displays the binding localized price, currency, and taxes before confirmation.
• Payment: Payment is charged by Apple to your Apple Account after you confirm the purchase.
• Renewal: The subscription automatically renews for the same duration unless canceled. Renewal is charged at the then-current price disclosed by Apple, subject to Apple's notice and consent requirements.
• Cancellation: Cancel in Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting LexiGrasp does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period unless Apple states otherwise.
• Restore: Use Restore Purchases in LexiGrasp to refresh eligible entitlements associated with the Apple Account.
• Refunds and billing: Apple administers billing, tax, cancellation, refunds, and payment disputes under Apple's policies. We cannot issue an App Store refund directly.
• Access: Pro access depends on a verified active entitlement. It may pause or end after expiration, refund, revocation, billing failure, or cancellation at period end.

13. Feedback

If you voluntarily submit ideas or suggestions, you permit us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission. Do not include confidential information in feedback.

14. Updates, changes, and availability

We may update, correct, limit, suspend, or discontinue features for reliability, security, legal compliance, platform compatibility, or product development. Some updates may be required to continue using the App. We do not guarantee that every feature, format, language, device, or external destination will remain available.

15. Third-party services

Apple and user-selected apps, websites, storage providers, and file providers are independent services governed by their own terms. Links and QR destinations may be unsafe or inaccurate. Opening or sharing to them is at your discretion. We do not endorse or control third-party content merely because the App can open or exchange a file with it.

16. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCANNER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, PERFECT RECOGNITION OR CONVERSION, RECOVERY OF CONTENT, LEGAL VALIDITY OF A SIGNATURE, AUTHENTICITY OF A DOCUMENT, OR FITNESS FOR REGULATED RECORDKEEPING.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

17. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR SCANNER DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US$50.

These limits do not apply where prohibited, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud, intentional misconduct, death, personal injury, or mandatory consumer protections.

18. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify us from third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful User Content, violation of another person's rights, or material breach of Sections 4 or 5. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own breach or misconduct, and it does not reduce mandatory consumer rights.

19. Termination

You may stop using and delete the App at any time; subscription cancellation is a separate Apple Account action. We may terminate your license if you materially violate these Terms, subject to applicable law. Sections that by nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability, and dispute provisions, remain effective.

20. Governing law and disputes

If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply to this agreement. Nothing in these Terms removes, limits, or replaces any right you have under those laws, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country. Where those laws conflict with anything in these Terms, those laws prevail.

If you are not a consumer — for example, you use LexiGrasp in the course of a business — these Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the LexiGrasp developer is established, and the courts of that country have exclusive jurisdiction.

Billing disputes are administered by Apple under Apple’s policies, whichever route applies. See the Subscription Terms.

21. Export and sanctions compliance

You may not use or export the App in violation of applicable export-control, trade-sanctions, or embargo laws. You represent that your use is permitted under laws applicable to you.

22. Apple-specific terms

Apple is not responsible for maintenance or support, subject to the Apple Standard EULA and applicable law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce applicable Apple-related provisions after your acceptance. 23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for changes to the App, law, security, or business operations. We will revise the date above and provide notice when required. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance where permitted; if you do not agree, stop using the App and cancel any subscription separately.

24. General

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified only as needed and the remaining provisions continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a business transfer subject to law. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, Subscription Terms, and Apple Standard EULA form the agreement concerning LexiGrasp.
